Description:
Combining jet-black grooves with the sophisticated coolness of European jazz, the Belgian jazz band Placebo, led by jazz pianist Marc Moulin, recorded three albums in the 1970s. The band boldly incorporates electric instruments and jazz, while crossing over into funk, soul, and rock. This is a masterpiece, a milestone in the rare groove/jazz scene in Europe and around the world, and a must-have for rare groove collectors around the world, as well as for deep jazz collectors! This is the third album released in 1974, and the band's confident work that directly took the band's name as the album title! The last album of Placibo, in which guitarist Philippe Katerine, who was said to be the second coming of Django, participated, has more miscellaneous musicality and abstract world, especially M3 "Bosso", which has the appearance of Placibo style meets Brazilian music, with high-speed bossa beat, weeping guitar and melancholy Placibo saxophone. M4 "Doug Madame Merci" has a lazy sound with modal harmonies, funky beat, and horn section, and Mulan's skillful synth lead. The heavy synth bass and gorgeous horns of M7 "Stomp" and the introduction of minimal sounds are so perfect that they could be said to be the foundation of Telex, which Moulin would form later in his career! The wah-wah solo of the trumpet and the ecstasy of the moment when the horn riffs intertwine over the drifting rose are unique to Placebo! P-VINE
