A program with music by British composers sung by promising baritone James Newby!SACD hybrid disc. British baritone James Newby (1993-), selected as one of the BBC New Generation Artists (2018-2022), released his debut album, "Wandering and Wondering" (BIS SA-2475), in 2020. The album received positive reviews for its "wonderfully homogenous baritone voice, velvety smooth and steady in all vocal ranges with unwavering technique" ("Opera Today"), and was called "a solid debut disc" ("BBC Music Magazine"), along with his co-star Joseph Middleton's piano. Magazine"). The second album, "Ashes to Ashes," was produced with a program of music by British composers. In 2015, my sister Laura passed away. Since then, I have wished to do something dedicated to her.
