Mayr, Rupert Ignaz (1646-1712)
Description:
This is a rare recording of Meyer's works by Letzborg, following the second recording, "Psalms from a Collection of Religious Songs" (CC-72759), a little-known masterpiece by the master of ancient music Letzborg. Antiphona, also translated as "communion," is a traditional way of chant singing, in which the singers are divided into two counties and call out to each other. Meyer's recording is almost entirely about the Virgin Mary, and the music is beautiful and devout. The singers and instrumentalists intermingle and interweave in a three-dimensional sound, with the appearance of Letzball's violin and gorgeous trumpet interplay. The richly varied sound can be enjoyed. King International
