For years, many of our customers have used our Beadboard Shiplap Panels for ceilings and walls. In keeping with the latest decorating trends, designers and contractors alike are using wide Beaded Ship Lap Panels for wainscoting on walls more than ever. To make ordering easier, we have packaged everything you need in a pre-packaged kit.

We call it the Elite Beadboard Wainscoting Kit.

BeadBoard is a traditional architectural feature that includes deep, vertical grooves -- "beads" -- milled into the wood. Beadboard can be used as stand-alone wall panelling or framed by rails as part of a wainscoting installation. Either way, beads are key. They conceal joints and any slight mismatch between neighbouring mouldings. They also provide just enough visual interest to attract the eye. 



This kit uses our raw, MDF Panels (¼" thick) that have an extra-wide Bead. The new Bottom Rail is notched out so the ¼" panels can fit right into it and give you a professionally finished look; it is taller than the original lower rail, which makes it stand out in any room. The Top Rail is also taller and is also notched in order for the ¼" panel to fit in. This little notch allows the finished job to look cleaner and makes the job much easier because there is less finishing work required.



Each kit includes an 8ft length of a 4-3/8" x 5/8" Upper Rail and a 7-5/8" x 5/8"  Lower Rails, along with a Wainscot Cap, and Shoe Trim. Each kit comes with six panels that are 16" wide x 1/4" thick, that have 3" on-centre deep beads, to be connected on site seamlessly. The 40" high kit comes with 27-1/2" long Beaded Panels, and the 56" high kit comes with 43-7/8" long Beaded panels. 

We recommend an overall height of about 40", but if you would like to line up with your countertop, the grooved, shiplap panels can easily be cut down on site. Other standard sizes are 40” or 58", or the Full Wall Kit.



The whole idea of packaging shiplap wainscoting in this format is that it allows you to customize it without compromising on quality.  Elite Trimworks has taken all the hours of thought and planning normally associated with undertaking a job like this and put it into one box. There is very little work required to make this look just like it does on TV.  


The kit comprises eight-foot lengths of Primed MDF Upper and Lower Rails, along with a PVC Cap and Shoe Trim.  Cellular PVC was chosen for better impact and moisture resistance in kitchens and bathrooms.  Cellular PVC nails, pins, cuts and paints are just like wood.
