Description:

Vivaldi's concertos by Swiss recorder player Isaac MacDoomi, whose music rivals operatic arias. While Vivaldi is best known for his technical violin concertos, his recorder concertos are also full of difficult pieces that demand astonishing virtuosity. The musical structure of the concerto is akin to an opera aria, with a burst of virtuosity that at times is almost too much to take in, and at other times a beautiful cantilena appears. The inclusion of actual arias proves the proximity of the concerto to the aria. In "Always the Sun," the recorder takes over the violin obbligato of the original. The recorder takes over the original violin obbligato in "Always the Sun," and the recorder takes over the song itself in "Look with Joy. The dazzling orchestral sounds are dazzlingly brilliant.
