The epitome of great 70s funk. Sampled by De La Soul and others of the native tongue family. Perfectly balanced between easy grooves to heart thumping rhythm.

Is this the first British borne rastafarian group? The fact they would include the sacred music of rastas first and not dabble in reggae is interesting. Granted this came out before Bob Marley blew open roots reggae, but still there isn't a single reggae rhythm on here, no guitar skanks. If anything the guitarist is more interested in afrobeat styles of rhythms.

The main influence is soul, and if we were to describe this record to people, it would be a stoned Curtis Mayfield jamming with War, a War that dropped latin rhythms for rasta ones.

Definitely a must have.
