Description:
This is the first album by Katsuyori Tokoro, a saxophonist who has had a desire to promote the works of American composers in Japan since his studies at Indiana University in the United States. The album includes five pieces by Glass, Worley, Zajac, and Bruch, including Kirstofte, which was recorded for the first time in Japan. The ambitious program is lined up as only a player who has challenged himself in various fields, including unaccompanied recitals without being restricted to classical or contemporary pieces, collaborations with electronics, and project delusion meetings with recitations. The fact that we were able to share the same image and worldview of the work with Mr. Kirstofte and create the sound that he envisioned added color to the work. The co-star is Atsuko Yamauchi, a pianist who has been actively performing in recitals and other venues. The ensemble's high level of performance is supported by her solid technique and musicality. The theme of this album is "prayer," and you will enjoy the beautiful melodies and harmonies that will slowly overflow into your heart when you meditate on them. (C)RS
