Gimbae stone is from the original stone formation in the Sinian more than a billion years ago. The quality of the stone is the result of post-volcanic magmatic activity and disseminated magnetic material penetration. After weathering earthquakes, external forces, and extreme winds, the stone is washed by the riverbed, which gives the Gimbae stone its unique attractive color and texture.

Most Gimbae stones have a plain yellow background with a formation of light brown and dark brown patches of texture but also often appears with red and green patterns.
