Description:
Beethoven's Complete Piano Sonatas, which traces the dramatic life of Beethoven through eight themes. This collection (5 CDs each) was recorded in parallel with eight concerts of Beethoven's complete piano sonatas held at the Seika Mitake Salon in Shibuya, Tokyo. The commentary by Yurina Tetsu herself has been well received, not only analyzing the pieces from the multiple viewpoints of a pianist and a researcher, but also presenting the basis and background of performance interpretation in concrete terms, including suggestions for fingerings, making the CD a valuable resource not only for pianists, but also for all performers, especially conductors, researchers, and music lovers. This is a groundbreaking collection of Beethoven's works that will allow pianists, conductors, and all other performers, as well as researchers and music lovers, to get closer to the core of Beethoven's music by listening to and reading the performances on the CD. The six halls in the upper and lower volumes are recorded at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall and, in the final recording, at the soon-to-be-ovened Toho Gakuen Munetsugu Hall.
