Katsuhiro Tsubonoh was born in 1947 and graduated from the Department of Composition and Conducting at Tokyo College of Music, where he studied under Hiroaki Minami. His activities are very wide-ranging, and he has produced and managed numerous events, as well as composed music for TV movies and animated films. He is currently president of the Contemporary Music Society of Japan. This work is an overview of Tsubonoh's long creative career, including his relatively early and recent works from among his many compositions. The recent works, which bring out unknown sounds from the instruments, and the radical style of the 1970s, which uses graphic notation, show Tsubonoh's diversity and unchanging individuality at the same time.
