Maltbarn is a renowned independent bottler based in Germany, known for its high-quality, single-cask Scotch whiskies. Founded by owner and whisky enthusiast Martin Diekmann, Maltbarn has gained a reputation for selecting and bottling exceptional casks, often showcasing rare or limited-edition whiskies. Their selections are typically unchill-filtered and bottled at natural colour and cask strength, preserving the whisky's authentic character. Ben is always excited to receive an email from Martin at Maltbarn with his latest releases and what’s available to bring into Australia. This latest range of whiskies is probably the most exciting to date - not just because the selection is quite large, but also because it includes everything from distilleries that are among our favourites to those not often seen in either official or independent bottlings. Not to mention, most of the range is between 20 and 32 years old. It’s a stellar lineup.
