Description:

Oratorio "The Return of the Prodigal Son," the first large-scale work by Polish Late Romantic composer, conductor, teacher, and organist Feliks Nowowiejski. Composed in 1901 while studying with Max Bruch in Berlin, the work won the Prix de Rome and had its world premiere in 1993. Although the work has rarely been performed since then, it is a work that perfectly harmonizes the orchestral sound, which makes versatile use of the characteristics of the instruments, the melodically beautiful chorus, and the profound harmonies of the organ, and also makes use of his experience as a choral conductor and organist. Today, along with Szymanowski and Karłowicz, Nowowiecki is regarded as one of the most important Polish composers of his generation, and his great work has been revived. Tokyo M-Plus
